1. Apologies Noted. CP to check she has correct email addresses.

ACTIONS

2. Notes of the meeting of 12 May

Matters arising to be discussed as part of agenda.

Finance

JM noted that Adrian Robinson was still Treasurer but could not attend meetings held on Sundays.

3. Planning Update

2 Garages at 1 & 3 Blenheim Avenue – OTRA objected due to breach of housing line and a revised plan was agreed for one garage with strict building conditions. JM will remind council if and when building starts.

29 (& 36) Winn Road Plans for Flats - rejected – too tall/too close to Blenheim Avenue houses. PB & CB asked for minutes to note particular thanks to JM for his support helping in achieving this outcome.

8 Blenheim Avenue – application to extend into roof with road facing sky-light window – appears in character although council may reject addition of road facing window.

Conservation Group

JM reported that the group had reviewed the triangle in the summer and noted the growth of plastic windows, guttering and fascias. PB asked if conservation status could be taken away and when would 5 year review of Management Plan take place. JM noted that the group is still to meet with Kevin White.

  1. Parking
Many residents have been inconvenienced by the increase of people parking cars during the day when the University Avenue Road campus car park is usually less than half full. This is not illegal unless a car is parked blocking a driveway or junction. We should encourage residents to photograph evidence and email to parking@soton.gov.uk. Alternatively contact the University Parking department to get them to visit and see the problem.

CP asked if it was possible to ballot OTRA residents regarding preference for Residents Parking however this must cover 100% of residents to get agreement.

Conservation group is concerned that this could lead to houses without off street parking paving their front gardens to create off street parking which would change the character of the triangle.

CP suggested double yellow lines on corners to prevent parking which hindered driver’s views.

JM is waiting for the parking policy which is expected in the next few months. This would hopefully inform further discussion which could take place at AGM in March.

  1. Neighbourhood Watch
PB has received few police reports regarding issues within the Triangle and is not circulating all updates for the surrounding district. The meeting agreed people did not want to be bombarded with emails.

  1. Any Other Business
Lovers Walk Meeting at the Hawthorns Centre on Thursday December 11th 4pm – 6 pm to discuss increasing the width. Westbourne Crescent properties backing on to the common have been invited. CB will attend and comment on Cowherds car parking and scruffiness.

JM said that we needed to spend £50 on website for new domain name. This was agreed.

Dr and Mrs Butler have invited Triangle residents to Christmas Drinks on Sunday 14th December.

Clare Price is planning OTRA Plant Sale Saturday 15th May

JM proposed date for AGM Friday 13th March – CP will organise venue ASAP.
