Parking in the Triangle

Leigh Rd ParkingWe are aware that some areas of the Triangle are heavily parked up especially during term times when University commuters use Oakmount Avenue and Westbourne Crescent. These are either students (who are not allowed to park on Campus) or staff who do not wish to pay for a Campus parking permit. The Triangle is of course a very short walk from Avenue Campus.

Parking has been discussed many times bye residents at various meetings and via the online discussion and OTRA is frequently asked about whether there can be residents’ parking zones. This is possible but must be resident-led. Whenever it has been discussed there has not been a clear majority in favour. There are strong arguments for and against permit holder parking bays and OTRA would be able to request a resident parking scheme if there is a majority in favour.

Parking across driveways

When the streets are full parked, we are aware that often driveways are blocked. Having a white line  “H bar marking” across the dropped curb can sometimes deter people from doing this. You can request this from SCC:
